The UFC has made Oscar De la Hoya a free agent, and he is set to make his debut on UFC 194 in Brazil on December 14, the organization announced.
De la Hoyas fight with Brazilian jiu-jitsu legend Rafael dos Anjos will be the UFC debut for the UFC heavyweight titleholder, who will fight former lightweight champion Chris Weidman in the co-main event.
The event will be headlined by a featherweight title fight between champion Conor McGregor and welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre.
The UFC previously announced De la Hooyas first-round knockout of Diego Sanchez in December 2016, and the bout will be featured on UFC 200, which takes place Dec. 9 in Las Vegas.
De La Hoyos fight against dos Anajos will also feature a light heavyweight showdown between Anderson Silva and Jon Jones.
The bout will also be featured as part of the UFC 194 broadcast on ESPN.
De LA Hoya and St-Petersburg are the first men to defend their UFC heavyweight titles.
They also both hold the UFC’s featherweight crown, and they both hold belts that are more than a year older than their UFC counterparts.
De La Hooyos first title defense came in February 2018, when he defeated Travis Browne by split decision.
