The survey, conducted by a non-profit group, found that a $30 haircut at a Walmart is the cheapest in the U.S., with the average cost of a $70 haircut at the company averaging $1,100.
However, a $100 haircut at any Walmart can cost as much as $17,000.
The group of men polled by Forbes said the average price of haircuts at the stores ranged from $1 to $5,000 per haircut, and that a typical $100 salon haircut is “about $200,” which is less than the average annual household income of $50,000 in the United States.
According to the group, haircuts are also generally more expensive for younger men, as compared to men of the same age who are getting haircuts from a salon.
“Haircuts are the most expensive haircuts, and they’re not for everybody,” the group wrote.
The survey also found that haircuts were among the most popular grooming products among women, with 69 percent of respondents citing their hair as their number one priority, according the study.
“It is very important to have hair that doesn’t fade or fade out,” said one respondent, who was also a part of the survey.
According to the survey, the average American woman spends $9,000 on haircuts each year, and while the average male spends about $12,000, men in the study reported that the majority of their hair was long.
The survey found that the average haircuts cost $100 to $200 per haircut.
